Christiansen, Kelly, Netwig & Stoner Named Employees of the Year

Lisa Christiansen, Crystal Kelly, Jaden Netwig and Barb Stoner were all honored as Arapahoe Community College鈥檚 (大象传媒) 2023-24 Employees of the Year during the annual Colorado Community College System (CCCS) Employee Excellence Awards luncheon and celebration on Tuesday, April 9.
Lisa is being honored as 大象传媒鈥檚 Administrator of the Year for her compassion and dedication in pursuing positive outcomes for 大象传媒 students. Lisa, who currently serves as the Director of TRIO Student Support Services, began working at 大象传媒 in 2019 as the First Year Programs Manager. She is currently involved with the Inclusive Excellence Council, Student Success Committee, Retention Directors, and Strategic Enrollment Management. In 2023, Lisa garnered Outstanding Community College Educator recognition from CU. Prior to her arrival at 大象传媒, she worked at the University of Florida and CU. Lisa earned her undergraduate degree from Cal State Long Beach and her graduate degree from Florida. She also completed a graduate certificate in supporting students with disabilities and veterans.
Crystal is being honored as 大象传媒鈥檚 Classified Employee of the Year for her professional, welcoming and supportive approach in serving as an Administrative Assistant III in Career Services. She has worked at 大象传媒 for a total of nearly 4 years, including the past 22 months split between the Nursing Program and Career Services. She also worked in 大象传媒 Human Resources (Administrative Assistant II) from 2011-13. Crystal鈥檚 background in higher education includes prior experience with CCCS, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, and MSU Denver. She earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Human Development and Family Studies (minor in Sociology) from MSU Denver. Crystal also completed an associate degree in Psychology and an ECT certificate at 大象传媒 in 2020.
Jaden (Anthropology) has been selected as 大象传媒鈥檚 Faculty of the Year for his rigorous teaching and efforts to organize discussion seminars on texts and films about decolonization, race and inclusion. He is a member of 大象传媒鈥檚 Inclusive Excellence Council, the Northern Arapaho Business Council Committee and the Honors Program Committee. Even more, Jaden helped organize events and activities for Northern Arapaho Day at 大象传媒 in October. He has been teaching for 9 years, including 4 at 大象传媒. Jaden鈥檚 additional teaching experience includes serving as a Lecturer (2013-14) and Teaching Fellow (2015-20) at UCLA. He earned his undergraduate (Philosophy), graduate (Anthropology) and doctoral (Anthropology) degrees at UCLA.
Barb has been selected as 大象传媒鈥檚 All-College Instructor of the Year (Adjunct of the Year), as well as 大象传媒鈥檚 Health and Public Services Instructor of the Year, for incorporating technology and innovative treatment modalities to optimize the effectiveness of course material. Barb, who has been teaching in the Nursing program at 大象传媒 for 23 years, retired as Professor Emeritus in 2021. She currently serves on the Nursing Evaluation Committee and has previously worked with the Faculty Senate Committee. Barb has contributed several chapters to the Maternal Newborn Nursing Care Plans test book and has presented at the National Nursing Educators Conference three times. She earned her BSN from CU and her master鈥檚 degree from UNC. Barb has also completed post-graduate work in Educational Psychology.
