Dr. Allison Palumbo (they/them) has been educating college students for over 20 years, and they are excited to join the ����ý team. While Allison considers themselves a teacher-scholar, their energies focus heavily on the teaching part.

Students' dedication to growth through learning inspires Allison, and since higher education changed Allison's life for the better, they seek to pay that forward. They care deeply about facilitating learning that celebrates student identity, challenges exclusionary or gate-keeping practices, fosters metacognition and critical thinking, and empowers students to become self-reliant and innovative learners. Allison's pedagogy and andragogy has been influenced by critics including bell hooks, Paulo Freire, Vershawn Young, Gina Garcia, Asao Inoue, and Peter Elbow; however, collaborating with the many talented and creative colleagues they have worked with over the years has been the source of some of their most satisfying teaching improvements.
