On a crisp and clear Saturday in November at Arapahoe Community College, 257 volunteersÌýhelped assemble and distributeÌý500 boxesÌýof fresh and shelf stable food items.

Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) was ready to orient volunteers at 8 a.m. so that families suffering from food insecurities could line their cars up to receive full boxes by 11 o’clock.Ìý

First, 500 boxes needed to be assembled.

´óÏó´«Ã½ contributed 19 volunteers across two shifts for this year’s event.

Since 1964, in collaboration with community partners, IFCS has provided an immediate response to hunger, a most basic need.

A collective total ofÌýmore than 700 hoursÌýwent into helping nourish 2,249 individuals for the upcoming holidays.

The final stage included all of those boxes being loaded into the awaiting cars of thankful families.
