´óÏó´«Ã½ – Countdown to Fall 2022 Continues…

Email sent to ´óÏó´«Ã½ students by Dr. Lisa Matye Edwards, VP of Student Affairs

Hello ´óÏó´«Ã½ Pumas!

Countdown to Fall 2022 and the start of classes...again – welcome to ´óÏó´«Ã½! This message is being sent to you because you are enrolled in a fall 2022 course, and we are excited for you to be a part of our college!

ACTION ITEM FOR Wednesday morning – August 17: Know how your course will be offered! Do you need to log in and how will that work? Where is your in-person class? What the heck is D2L (Desire2Learn)?

Please see instructions in this message to determine HOW, WHERE and WHEN the course you are enrolled in will meet.

All courses offered by ´óÏó´«Ã½ should have course access details posted in Desire2Learn (D2L) as of Monday, August 22. CCCOnline courses will have D2L access on the first scheduled day of the class. Please read this entire message to determine the differences between ´óÏó´«Ã½ Online and CCC Online course offerings.

How do I check how my courses will be offered?

Go to arapahoe.edu. Select  from the top menu. In , go to Student Tab (across top), then to Student Schedule (on left side of screen), check your course schedule.  The course title will link to Desire2Learn (D2L). This will have information specific to your course. For more on how to read the Student Schedule, check out this resource

You may download the Navigate App and check your schedule via Navigate on your mobile device. Download links and learn how to use Navigate.

Note the DATE the course starts. Some courses are accelerated and may not start until a date in September. Check the date and know when your course starts!

Check out this helpful information on how to make sense of the abbreviations and codes on the course schedule. Double-check the Campus – which ´óÏó´«Ã½ location will your class meet? Sturm Castle Rock, Littleton, or Art & Design?

Courses that are ONLINE may be offered by ´óÏó´«Ã½ or the Colorado Community College Online (CCC Online). ´óÏó´«Ã½Online is shown as AON for your campus and CCCOnline is shown as ´óÏó´«Ã½ CCC Online.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

Look here to see what it means to have a hybrid, remote or hyflex class.

Courses in person will have a ROOM and a day and time. Example: Humanities (HUM 1015 – World Mythology) meets Wednesday nights, 5:30 – 8:30pm once a week in Main 3710 and starts September 8, 2022. While Fall semester starts the week of August 22nd, this class is accelerated and does not start until September 8th. I will not physically go to class until September 8th and will check D2L closer to September 8 for specific course instructions. Students can see meeting instructions in  Student Tab (across top) Student Schedule (on left side of screen), check your course schedule.  The course title will link to Desire2Learn (D2L). Locations where ´óÏó´«Ã½ in-person classes meet:

Castle Rock buildings: ACR = Castle Rock Campus / Sturm Collaboration Campus at Castle Rock

Littleton buildings:

AA = Annex

AD = Art and Design Center

AM = Main Building

AN = North Building

CSB = Church Street Building

ONLINE - Students may take online courses offered either by ´óÏó´«Ã½Online or . ´óÏó´«Ã½Online courses are taught by ´óÏó´«Ã½ instructors who know ´óÏó´«Ã½ degrees and certificates and support resources for students, they are listed as AON campus. CCCOnline courses are taught by instructors who are a part of the Colorado Community College System.  Either type of online courses is accessed via D2L by selecting the Course Access icon in my´óÏó´«Ã½. A course that is ONLINE will not change to in person. You must log in and access the class per the instructor’s directions. Don’t wait and log in the first week of the class so you don’t miss anything.

In the class schedule: AON ´óÏó´«Ã½ = ´óÏó´«Ã½ Online Class and ´óÏó´«Ã½ CCC Online = CCC Online Class

There are other options of courses, but the majority of ´óÏó´«Ã½ offerings will be in person, remote or online. We do have additional courses and you can find these detailed course type descriptions and how to tell which is which by viewing our course schedules abbreviations and codes
